I’m growing out my fringe, what haircut should I go for?
You’ve had your fringe for a while now and it’s time for a change, so you need to start growing it out. Don’t worry, this doesn’t take too long and there are ways of stopping your fringe falling into your eyes. Here’s a look at some haircuts you could go for while you wait for your fringe to blend in with the rest of your hair.
Once you’ve decided to let your fringe grow out, you’re going to go through a few different stages. “When your fringe reaches your eyes, it’s time to layer it. This will give it movement and help it blend in with your haircut, whatever that may be. If your layered fringe starts to annoy you, you can always use a hair clip or slide to pin it back.
The length of your hair is irrelevant when deciding whether or not to grow out your fringe. “The most important thing is the way you incorporate your fringe into the rest of your hair as you’re growing it out. Getting layers in your hair will not help. The layers would have to start too high up in your hair, resulting in your hair falling into your eyes. No haircuts can hide a fringe altogether, you simply need to learn to live with it as it’s growing out!”
You can use hair accessories to hide your fringe as it’s growing out. “Pin it to the side using a hair grip or style it into a quiff. Whatever you decide, you’ll need to make sure it stays in place.”
Our tip: do not try to layer your fringe yourself! Head to the salon and discuss it with your hairdresser. They will help you choose which side you want to create movement on. He or she can then cut the layers in accordingly.
