I want my hair to shine!

For silky and shiny hair, you’ll need to know the right tricks and use the right products, because hair doesn’t naturally shine! Our tips.

For a bit of science, know that hair is made up of little flakes that are, for the most part, lifted up. As a result, your hair is no longer perfectly straight and can no longer reflect light, which makes it appear dull. To fix this, there are two solutions. The first, as Jeff Causse explains, “is to achieve radiance with the help of a hair straightener.  The little flakes are therefore pressed together, creating a mirror effect and more radiance”.

The use of the right products is indispensable. “There are pigmented treatments that can boost your colour, or neutral no-rinse cares that will sheath your hair with a brilliant coating, all without weighing it down”. Use the latter products if your hair also needs a boost of volume.

Be careful not to use too much product, which will weigh your hair down. And choose a finishing care that fits your type of hair the best. “For example, if your hair is a bit dry, there’s no need to overdo it, a leave-in conditioner will suffice. On the other hand, for severely dry hair, try a nourishing mask, which will make your hair more silky and soft”. When it comes to rinsing, if you can, use cold water. “Just the last couple of seconds! And there’s no need to use ice cold water either; lukewarm water will do just fine if you’re too sensitive”.

Our tip: to give your hair a boost, remember to eat at least 5 fruits and vegetables per day. A healthy and balanced diet or even some vitamin supplements will reinforce your hair’s health and shine. “And put out that cigarette which dulls your hair. Tobacco has the same effect on your hair as it does on your skin”.
