Masks for coloured hair: advantages and optimisation
Coloured hair requires special attention to ensure that the colour stays shiny and the hair remains soft and bouncy. You should therefore opt for products made for coloured hair. Here’s more about hair masks and their benefits.
Masks are generally made for use on dry, damaged, weak or coloured hair. “These hair types require more care than others and need deep repairing and nourishing treatments.”
“The mask should be applied once or twice a week to towel-dried hair and distributed throughout the hair section by section. Massage the product in so that the hair can absorb it, working from the roots to the ends.” Leave the product to soak in for up to 20 minutes, depending on your hair’s condition. For even better results, cover your head with a hot towel for ten minutes or so. That way, the mask is in direct contact with your hair and can absorb the keratin more easily.
What’s the difference between a normal hair mask and a mask for coloured hair? Its composition. “At Jean Louis David, the 100% Colour mask is enriched with vitamin E. This vitamin hydrates your hair and ensures your colour lasts as long as possible.” Your hair is nourished from the roots to the ends and your colour is left looking super sleek!
Our tip: Avoid combing your hair once the mask is applied. You might think that this will distribute the product throughout your hair more evenly. Wrong! You are effectively skipping a stage of the treatment. Simply leave the mask to act so that your hair can absorb all the product it needs to restore itself.
