How can I add volume to my flat bob?
Women with fine hair aren’t the only ones to suffer from a lack of volume . In fact, all hair types can get limp and lifeless. The bob, this winter’s big trend, is no exception unfortunately. Even bob hairstyles can suffer from ‘flat-hair’ syndrome. Here are our tips to give your bob a much-needed volume boost.
When washing your hair, try to limit the amount of product you use. ‘Avoid weighing your hair down by using heavy masks and leave-in treatments. These products add unnecessary weight to your hair, making it even heavier. Only use products that are absolutely essential for your hair’.
Sometimes, a good colour is enough to give the illusion of having lots of volume. ‘That’s not to say you should be using a permanent colour. A 2-in-1 Gloss treatment or temporary colour work just as well. When sections of your hair are darker than others, it creates an illusion of depth which is great for bob-style haircuts. Sometimes it’s the simple things that work best such as a nice structured bob accompanied by a quality colour’.
How about trying a layered cut, or cutting bangs into the front of your style ? ‘A sharp, angular bob, a boyish pixie crop, bangs and highlights all give volume and body to your hair. All you need is a good haircut to give your hair real volume’.
Our tip : styling products are your best friend for creating volume, however don’t just pick anything up from the shelf. A volumizing mousse will do the trick
