Which Jean Louis David color treatment is right for me?
You’ve finally decide to take the plunge. Excited to change your hair color, but aren’t 100% sure which color to go for? The pros give their expert advice on coloring your hair, meaning you won’t be disappointed with your end result.
In terms of on-trend hair colors, copper is the must-have shade for winter. However, there are a few rules you need to consider before going ahead with the coloring process. ‘You need the correct base color to start with; ideally a light shade. It’s much more complicated to go from dark to light. In terms of how your color will turn out, it’s all about selecting which shade suits you best. Copper is a fairly strong color which will immediately be noticed by passers-by, meaning an intense version will be difficult to ignore. If you’d prefer a more subtle take on this hot trend, opt for a more muted tone’.
Whichever shade you choose, always consult your stylist first. ‘The best results are always achieved when the client explains what they truly want. Trust us…we’re professionals! A stylist will always give you the color you’re after, providing that this is technically possible. They will show you the different options available to make sure you get your ideal shade. Next, they’ll adapt this salon color to your individual locks and do a test strand to show you what the end result will look like’.
Opt for a color treatment which requires minimum upkeep. ‘Some color treatments involve heading back to your salon every 6-7 weeks to see your stylist. You can also find some shampoo formulas which can lighten your color at home. If you don’t have white or grey hair yet, opt for a temporary version which is friendly on your locks. On the other hand, a permanent color is your best option if you have a lot of grey to hide’.
Our advice: Before committing to getting your color done, make sure you think long and hard about whether you’re happy to wear a bold shade every day.
