Hair colours that make you look younger
You don’t always need a facelift to look a few years younger. Sometimes a few simple fashion or beauty tricks can be enough to make you appear younger. We’ve already told you about the hairstyles that make you look younger, now here are some colour ideas!
Colouring rules. Rules which work for everyone and can be applied to everything from fashion and beauty to decorating. If you have fair skin, forget black hair. This colour will instantly harden and darken your features – not at all what you’re after. However, if you go for a lighter colour, this will create a sense of continuity, which will soften your facial features. By following these colour rules, you can bring out your best features and shed the years at the same time!
Follow the trends. One thing that can make you look older is your choice of colour. All it takes is an out-of-date colour and the damage is done! Today copper is on its way back in and will soon be seen on heads everywhere. But if you had opted for this colour even just a year or two ago, you would have looked behind with the times and, as a result, older. So flick through fashion magazines and pay close attention to fashion ads to stay in tune with the latest trends and choose the right colours.
Let your highlights do the work. You have natural highlights in your hair. Except for Asian hair which is just one colour throughout, everyone has a range of shades in their hair. It’s the lighter shades of your natural hair colour that need to stand out in order for you to look younger. After summer, thanks to the sun and the salt water, your hair generally gets lighter on its own. If not, talk to your hairdresser about the different options available.
Go and see a professional. It’s the colour that boosts the cut and not the other way round. Before getting your colour done, you need to think about how you’re going to wear your hair and how you’re going to look after it every day, to make sure the colour is suitable. At home it’s difficult to create subtle colour differences, a colour that is tailor-made to suit you. Only your hair technician knows how to do this! They will know which colour to choose to highlight your best features and make you look younger.
