Hair trends 2014

2014 has just begun, and a wave of new hair trends are already emerging, from new styles and techniques to uber modern colours. 2014 is going to be a great year for all of you style chameleons out there!
Short hairstyles are here to stay. ‘Of course, there will be long hairstyles too, but short hairstyles are where it’s at for 2014. Less boyish crops, more stylish bobs. The bob is bang on-trend. For once we have a trend that remains consistent! It’s often difficult to tell my clients to try out a short hairstyle when, next season, long hair will be back in fashion. Hair is not like clothes, you can’t just change them in a blink of an eye!’
Colour is going to play a big part this year. ‘At Jean Louis David, it’s what we do best. Colour is the only way to make a hairstyle truly unique to you. In fact, you can work just about any hairstyle you like, as long as you have the colour right.’
Uber straight hair will be taking a backseat in 2014. ‘It’s wavy locks and surfer hair that are taking centre stage this year! Jean Louis David are going to be focusing all of their efforts on products which create these kind of effects, rather than hair care products, which were developed last year. 2014 is going to be the year of volume and shine.’
Our tip: Head down to your nearest Jean Louis David salon before you decide to change your hair radically! A stylist will be able to advise you and give you ideas about the new trends that will suit your hair for 2014.
