The wet look, still stylish
The wet look style reminds us of the end of a day at the beach or leaving the swimming pool. It’s the hairstyle to adopt this summer if you want to look like a mermaid. Whether your hair is short or long, discover how to pull off the wet look!
The fashion faux-pas to avoid. The wet look is pretty so long as you apply your gel or serum sparingly – avoid greasy looking hair caused by using too much product. The easiest option is to put a dab of styling product in your hands and to coat your hair, avoiding your scalp. Focus particularly on the tips, which are typically dryer and thus absorb the product more rapidly, for an even result.
Slicked back. With long hair, prepare it in advance by straightening it, which will make it easier to work with. Then use a glossy effect gel, choosing the hold strength depending on the desired effect. Spread the product evenly throughout your hair with your hands, bringing your hair to the back, or creating a side-parting by applying the product on both sides.
Crimped style. For a 1950s look, you can crimp your wet look, ideally done on short hair. To do this, use a comb to style your crimps once you have applied the gel, holding it in place by using a hair dryer on the cool setting. It’s a hairstyle with a sophisticated look which is quick and easy to do!
