The pros discuss the zig-zag parting
The zig-zag parting you once wore during your teenage years is making a comeback! Your parting should look more natural than previous versions of this style, creating a more spontaneous feel. Read on to discover what the pros are saying about this year’s zig-zag parting.
When first looking at this photo, it’s easy to see that our model hasn’t created a neat central line. ‘Her parting appears to have been drawn haphazardly in several different directions. This gives her style a lived-in feel which is less structured than your everyday look. This has a much more natural effect than using a comb to style your parting’.
The zig-zag parting hasn’t been a huge trend recently but it has come and gone frequently over the years. ‘This messy parting looks great paired with sleek locks and more structured styles, adding a softer edge and hint of personality’.
To create the zig-zag parting, you’ll need a fine-tooth comb. ‘Either get a friend to help you draw your parting in one single motion, or draw two by yourself and integrate them together. It’s always best to start from the front and work your way backwards’.
Our advice: Want a relaxed parting that isn’t too straight and neat-looking? Run your fingertips through the roots of your hair to create volume and body. Your roots should then fall loosely into an unstructured parting. The comb is the best way to create a precise zig-zag shape, however.
