The low side parting

You just have to look at the hairstyles on the autumn-winter 2013-2014 catwalks to see that it is everywhere: the low side parting is all the rage with all types of hairstyles for an elegant, sophisticated look. Here’s a look at this trend.

The low side parting. Seen with long, ultra-straight styles, as well as with chignons and braids, the low side parting is a must-have with all hairstyles this season. This parting offers a fairly strict feel, but feel free to team it with dishevelled, bohemian hairstyles for a combination of styles.

How to create the low side parting. Hair should be perfectly clean and untangled for the perfect parting. Use a tail comb to help you. For a nice straight parting, start at the forehead, as far over as you can to be really on-trend. The only dilemma: deciding which side to create your parting on.

A low side parting, endless possibilities. It all depends on the style you’re going for. For a bohemian look, go for wavy lengths. For a glamorous look, use your curling tongs to create retro 40s curls. A low chignon will show off your face and give you an elegant, feminine look. Finally, for a rock touch, wear your hair in a messy ponytail. A low side parting doesn’t necessarily make a look, it accentuates any look!
