Sophisticated-chic: straight locks and side parting

Last year was all about wavy lengths and natural curls. 2015 is a completely different story: make way for super-sleek hair that is ultra-straight. This classic look was recently spotted on Jil Sander’s Spring-Summer 2015 runway collection at New York Fashion Week.

The trend. Hair should be worn straight with a structured feel thanks to a precise side parting. Keep your look sharp and polished by tucking your front sections behind your ears. Hair was worn in dark, block colors that were luxuriously glossy. Add some extensions to your style, enabling you to wear your hair in a long mane down your back.

Who can wear super-straight locks? By opting for this style, you can play it safe whilst retaining an air of elegance and sophistication; perfect for adding a classic touch to any outfit, any day of the year.

Get the runway look. After applying a heat-protective serum to your mid-lengths and ends, you’ll need to turn on your straighteners. Start sectioning off your hair into several different parts, smoothing the plate of your flat iron from the roots right down to the tips. You should only need to run over each section once if your straighteners are hot enough. Our top tip? If your hair is naturally curly or frizzy, set aside a good half hour to ensure your hair is sleek and straight. Next, create a side part and tuck your hair behind your ears. To complete the look, spray all over with hairspray to make your style stay put all day long.
