On-trend hair colours set to take summer 2017 by storm
Want to go for a new hair colour with the onset of summer? We take a closer look at the must-have on-trend shades for the Summer 2017 season.
This season will be full of contrasts for our locks. Extreme colours and natural shades, extremely colourful streaks and subtle highlights. So, which colour will you go in for?
Ice blond to brighten up summer
Although all shades of blond are great for summer, surprisingly enough a cool colour is emerging as THE on-trend colour for summer 2017. Extreme, almost white, worn rock chick or Hollywood glamour style , this shade is sure to brighten up your locks. Sometimes in iridescent or ash shades, ice blond can be reinvented however you wish and it is often topped off with highly on-trend pearlescent highlights. It is perfect for enhancing fair complexions, though it does not tend to suit dark ones.
Good to know. Besides using hair treatments regularly to compensate for bleaching your locks, salon touch-ups are a must to avoid that unsightly noticeable roots effect.
Brown hair gets warm highlights
This summer, “the sun-kissed look” should be more natural than ever. The experts at Jean Louis David have developed the Soft Light highlights treatment. The colourist will play with contrasts for a made-to-measure finish with shades slightly lighter on the lengths and darker on the tips for an irresistibly warm shade of brown.
Good to know. To ramp up the colour and hold onto it for longer, opt for colour “booster” treatments such as those from the Color therapy range .
Rose gold vs Blorange: a tie between two new reds
Having been a hot trend for several seasons, red locks are getting more daring with hybrid shades swinging between blond, pink and orange. Vibrant colours which vary in brightness, give the complexion a healthy glow and suit all complexions. Another advantage: these reds come in any number of shades for a personalised colour. Pink gold with pinkish highlights, blorange with peachy tones… Which one will you go for?
Good to know. This type of hair colouring fades easily. If you do go for it, consider protecting your hair from the sun by wearing a hat.
