How to style your hair whilst growing out a bob
The bob has been one of this year’s hottest looks. However, many women are opting to grow out their bob, rather than getting their style trimmed back to its shorter length. If you’re one of these women, read on to discover how to style your hair throughout the awkward ‘growing out’ stage.
The style you create all depends on the length of your hair and where your bob ends. ‘Even if you have an ultra-short bob, you can style your hair into various different looks. You can create a wet, slick-backed look using gel, curl your lengths, create a bowl-effect or even simply straighten your style’.
Once your hair has reached the base of your neck, you have a whole new set of styles you can create by tying up your lengths. ‘From braids to herringbone crowns, why not try creating one of this season’s bohemian-inspired looks? Longer hair is the perfect length for creating a braided crown style’.
The style you decide to create also depends on your hair’s texture. ‘For the majority of women, hair can either be smoothed down or given more body and texture for a tousled, beachy effect using Beach Spray. Giving your hair more texture is not going to make it hair appear longer, however you can try adding extensions to add length near the front’.
Our advice: If you’re aiming to grow your hair out, allow your lengths to reach your shoulders before getting them trimmed. Once they have reached this point, the ends will start to rub against your clothing, causing damage, meaning you should get your ends trimmed every 3 months. Make sure your stylist trims away less length than your hair actually grows, to enable your hair to continue growing in the long run.
