How to create the body-boosted chignon
The Dolce & Gabanna catwalk has reworked this hairstyle for today’s trends. Inspired by the elegant hairstyles worn by Sicilian women, the body-boosted chignon is perfect for anyone who wants to display a little romance and be right on top of the trends. Here’s a look at the steps to follow to reproduce the chignon seen on the Italian designer’s catwalk.
Here’s our step-by-step guide to creating a body-boosted chignon
Step 1:
Part your hair in the middle to structure your hairstyle. Backcomb your hair at the roots to achieve as much volume as possible, but make sure your parting can still be seen. This will intensify the chignon’s “body-boosted” effect.
Step 2:
Straighten your mid-lengths and ends. To avoid losing any volume, avoid touching your backcombed roots.
Step 3:
Create a low ponytail. Careful not to flatten out any of the volume.
Step 4:
To avoid the overly strict effect that the body-boosted chignon can often bring, keep your chignon nonchalant. To do this, tie your hair into a low ponytail and create a quick, loose chignon using hair pins. Let a few sections escape.
Step 5:
Spray a layer of hairspray over the style.
