Fashion is forever repeating itself. It comes as no surprise that the 60s are once again knocking on our wardrobe doors and popping up in our make-up bags. Here’s a look at a backcombed style for XXL volume. Spotted at Marc Jacobs. The sixties trend.
With each season comes a new set of trends. But it’s not unusual to see a decade from the past as a source of inspiration. The decade that has been the most prominent in Spring-Summer 2013 collections are the 60s. A mixture of swing cuts, geometrical prints, bright colours and mini-skirts. As for beauty, eyes are painted with black eyeliner and hair is pumping up the volume with this handy backcombing technique
! How to create the retro quiffed style
. First and foremost, apply a styling mousse to damp hair to add texture and structure. Next, blow dry and straighten your hair using straightening irons
or by blowdrying your hair
with a hairdryer and round brush for a more flexible result. Then, use a comb to backcomb your hair on the top of your head only. Start by creating a side parting
for an asymmetrical separation. Backcomb the inside of the hair so it’s not visible. Finally, tie the lengths into a smooth, low ponytail. © Pixelformula/Marc Jacobs prêt-à-porter show, Spring-Summer 2013 © Jean Louis David
