The headscarf and up-do combo

This summer, the headscarf is your best friend when it comes to protecting your hair from the sun. But not only that! This accessory is also a great way to add some zing to your look. Let’s have a look at an original take on this classic, which was recently spotted on the Zana Bayne runway at New York Fashion Week.

The trend. Hair was swept entirely backwards and worn in long waves in luscious honey-brunette tones. A white headscarf completed this chic look, worn in a similar style to the turban thanks to its twisted effect at the front. This piece is set to become this summer’s ‘it’ accessory, creating character as well as adding a boho-chic feel to any outfit.

Who can wear the headscarf and up-do combo? Anybody who enjoys wearing the headscarf but wants to try something a bit more adventurous. What’s more, this look is perfect for any occasion, but is especially suited to daytime looks. It opens up the wearer’s face and will complete your outfit. Pair with a bold make-up look to show off your best features.

Get the runway look. Start by washing hair with Hydration and Suppleness shampoo from the Oil Therapy range which is designed to strengthen and add shine. Dry carefully then use a curling iron to create wavy lengths. After your waves are complete, allow to hang loose down your back. Next, fold your headscarf in half and place at the nape of the neck, underneath your hair, bringing the two end pieces up towards the top of your forehead. Cross over, then secure into a neat knot, scooping your lengths neatly over the top.
