Summer must-have: the colorful headscarf

The headscarf has been well and truly projected into stardom thanks to its prominent appearance on the Desigual Spring-Summer 2015 catwalk at Madrid Fashion Week. Discover how to wear this instant pop of color this spring!

The trend. Models were styled with loose lengths on the runway, both long and short. A rounded quiff took center stage at the front of this look and added a retro-chic feel. Each style was accessorized with a headscarf tied at the nape of the neck whilst the front sections were left loose to create a contrast with the colorful scarf creating an elegant, feminine and unique vibe.

Get the look. Take direct inspiration from the runway and pair this style with a bright and colorful outfit. This summer, why not liven up your look with flashy neon color or pastel shades. In terms of make-up, opt for a lightweight coverage which is fresh and luminous. Once you’ve mastered the art of tying your scarf, you can wear this accessory day and night… try yours with a chignon or ponytail.

Step-by-step tutorial. Start by washing hair with Control Therapy shampoo which will deeply cleanse hair and prevent greasy roots. Dry, then apply a heat-protective spray to your lengths. Add curls to your look by using straighteners to create waves. Once complete, brush through lightly for a more relaxed finish. Keep your quiff in place thanks to a few bobby pins and a layer of hairspray. You can now add your favorite scarf design, remembering that it should be a statement.
