Braided crown or herringbone braid

This winter, the herringbone braid caught on with its bohemian and loose style. This season, it’s the braided crown that is being seen everywhere. While it’s a more difficult style to create, it has an amazing result and a very romantic look. So, which do you prefer?

Herringbone braid, how to get it. Did you think the herringbone braid would disappear once the summer came? There is no need to worry, this style remains very much in vogue. More and more women are letting their hair grow longer and this type of braid is particularly appreciated. Primarily because this style is easy to create, but also results in a trendy and bohemian look.

Separate your hair into three sections, like a classic braid, or in two if you want a twisted effect. Cross the strands towards the inside and pull some of them to the end for an irresistible dishevelled effect. This results in a wild and rough looking hairstyle!

Braided crown, how to get it. This hairstyle requires a little more work but with careful attention or the help of a friend, you can do it perfectly. The braided crown is ideal if you are looking for a romantic style or post-beach chic…provided your hair is long enough to go all the way around your head! Start from the ear, making a braid from three strands as you would with a classic plait, going horizontally, incorporating new strands as you go along the side. To make it easier, you can do each side of your head separately, making a parting in the middle or at the side and braid your hair twice, on each side of the parting. The crown effect will not be perfect but your hairstyle will still make people jealous! To finish, attach the hair behind your head with hairpins and apply some hairspray to ensure your style holds perfectly.
