The dos and don’ts behind eyebrow coloring
Dyeing your eyebrows has never been so on-trend. Bleached, dark and even colorful versions have all been spotted on the catwalks. Want to give your eyebrows a little DIY make-over at home? Discover our dos and don’ts to eyebrow coloring.
Do. For a more natural finish, always stay within two shades of your hair color. In fact, it’s more important than you think for your eyebrows to match your hair color when it comes to your complexion, especially if you want a very natural effect.
Don’t. Don’t over-apply! For best results, head to your salon and ask a stylist to dye your eyebrows for you. They will use a brush for a more precise finish and lightweight strokes to avoid color overload.
Do. Never overdraw your eyebrows when applying a new color, unless you want to look like you’re wearing drag or Halloween make-up! Going outside the natural arch of your eyebrow can also cause skin irritations. If you must color your brows at home, make sure you do a test patch well in advance to test for allergic reactions.
Don’t….always follow what’s trendy. Bleached and colorful brows won’t suit everybody! Don’t run the risk of looking vacant thanks to the invisible-brows effect. You may end up regretting it…
Do. If you love the effect of having different colored eyebrows to your natural hair color, why not try using make-up to test out your new color before committing to a long-lasting dye?
