Styles for super-long hair

It’s rare to see women with super long hair these days, however there are still a few out there who let their hair grow right down to the waist. To create healthy looking locks, hair needs to be cared for daily and treated with nourishing products. Let’s take a look at the best hairstyle choices for long hair.

Super-long hair should be brushed daily. “Set aside some time every night to brush through your hair. Before going to bed, make sure to brush from root to tip, unless your hair is naturally curly. As soon as you hop into bed, tie your hair out of the way by braiding it into a plait or tying it into a low ponytail. This will keep your hair lying flat and smooth so that you don’t have to tackle brushing your lengths again every morning”.

Take care of your hair by treating it with a nourishing treatment once or twice a week. “Opt for hydrating shampoos and conditioners. Long hair can sometimes be up to 3 or 4 years old, depending on how fast your hair grows and has probably suffered hair damage at some point. Beautiful hair requires a fair bit of care and attention to keep it in tip-top condition”.

Be sure to trim your ends by 2-3cm every few months. “If you have layers, it’s important to get them trimmed by your hairdresser. Super long hair looks great with layers as they will enable you to create multiple styles. You can change the shape, volume and effect all simply by cutting layers into your lengths. If your long hair is all one length, it will be difficult to create any style except for the basic plait”.

Our tip: Try not to allow your hair to grow any longer than waist-length. Anywhere below this point and hair will start to look lank and lifeless due to the overbearing weight and cut. Women with fine hair should avoid long hair at all costs and opt for a thickening bob style instead.
