Step-by-step guide to a chic low-parting style
Step 1: Make sure your hair is clean before creating this style. Once you’ve washed your locks, draw a low lying parting on the side of your choice. Be sure to keep the parting as straight and neat as possible to give your style a professional finish. Your parting will act as the focal point of your style so it’s important that it’s perfect. For this look, where your parting sits is everything. Create yours just above your ear for maximum impact.
Step 2: Comb your hair so that it is perfectly straight and lies flat against your head, free of any unsightly lumps and bumps. Gather your lengths at the nape of your neck and tie into a ponytail or chignon, depending on your preferred look.
Step 3: Your style should be frizz-free. To ensure a sleek all-over look, run a pea-sized amount of styling gel between your hands and apply to your hair, smoothing down any flyaways. Remember that less is more when it comes to how liberal you want to be with your gel. Your style should stay firmly in place, however should not look greasy or weighed down with product.
Step 4: If you want to recreate the style from the Reed Krakoff runway (pictured), allow a strand of hair at the very front of your style to hang loose. This will add an original twist to your look whilst remaining chic and elegant.
