Slick styles
Light, delicate curls and tousled hair aren’t the only styles that are making their mark this season. Slick styles are also enjoying some time in the spotlight for an immaculate result.
On long, straight hair. We always imagine long, loose styles to be straight, soft and blow-dried. But they can also be loose, straight and slick. To copy the style seen at Versus, take a large piece of hair from the front of the head and pull it back, slicking it down with gel. This will give you an original half ponytail. Another option, pull all of the hair from the front of your head back, slicking it down as you go, and leave the rest of your hair straight.
On short hair for a tomboy effect. For a masculine-feminine look, stick to short, slick cuts. These are really easy to create but do require a gel or a fixing wax. Take a small amount of gel and warm it up in the palms of your hands. Apply by running your hands through your hair, pulling it back as you go. Make sure the product is evenly distributed throughout your hair to avoid it looking greasy. Et voilà, the boyish wet look!
On a ponytail. Slick ponytails can be worn in a number of different ways. For a classic, strict hairstyle, create a centre parting and smooth down the hair on the top of your head. For a more casual yet chic style, go for a side parting instead, again slicking down the hair on either side of your parting with a gel. Finally, there’s the option of pulling all of your hair back, slicking it down as immaculately as you can.
