Redheads: which haircut should you be getting this summer?

Red hair has a tendency to be drier than other hair shades. As well as considering which style you want to create this season, make sure you don’t forget about keeping your locks in good condition and the ends well-hydrated. So, should you be wearing your hair short or long this summer? Let’s take a look at the tops trends.

Long wet-look lengths. Red hair can sometimes be bulkier than other hair types. Take control of your bushy mane by opting for the popular wet-look trend. If your hair is naturally long and well-looked after, this is the perfect option for going to the beach. To get the look, take a pea-sized amount of styling product and apply all-over whilst pulling the hair backwards. You locks will look radiant and shiny all day long, as well as being kept away from your face.

Short with layers. Due to the fact that red hair is naturally more voluminous by nature, you should ideally add layers to remove some of the bulkiness. A boyish crop or bob style will work wonders…simply make sure not all of your hair is the same length. For summer, and whilst on vacation, make sure you have some bobby pins and a headband handy to keep your hair away from your face whilst you take a dip in the ocean with friends.

Mid-length waves. This is the look to be wearing right now. Red hair looks great with a bit of movement and body. You can create this effect on mid-length hair which is well-nourished by embracing your natural curl, or simply heading to your nearest Jean Louis David salon to take advantage of the new Speed Curl service. In just 15 minutes and for 15 euros, you can step out of the stylist’s chair with luscious, soft boho waves that are perfect for summer.
