Whether you choose a fishtail, sleek or crown version, the braid is a must have for those summer months! Looking for an on-trend update on this classic style? Look no further than the Marissa Webb Spring-Sumer 2015 runway at New York Fashion Week.
The trend. Long, straight locks given structure thanks to a side parting. Hair was swept around onto one shoulder, then plaited loosely for a relaxed feel, starting at the nape of the neck and stopping a few centimetres above the ends. A few flyaway strands helped to create a mussed-up effect for a more relaxed take on this trend.
Who can wear the side braid? Anybody who wants to mix up their look with a loose, bohemian-inspired plaiting technique. This braid can be worn for almost any occasion: for daytime, pair with a casual outfit, or balance out your sophisticated evening look with this simple hairstyle for your next night out with friends.
Step-by-step tutorial. Start by washing your hair with Nutrition and Shine shampoo from the Hydra Therapy range. Dry, then create a neat side parting. Next, gather your lengths around onto one shoulder and create a 3-strand braid. Secure into place with an invisible hair elastic. Tug gently on a few strands for a messy-effect that looks much more natural. Complete with a layer of hairspray and voila!
