Maybe you like short haircuts but are hesitant to take the plunge with a radically different style? If so, try out the faux pixie crop without having to get your hair cut with our smart technique!
To trick everyone with your locks, get your hands on a hairband, wavy hair grips and flat hairpins. For better hold, do this style the day after washing rather than on freshly washed hair.
Start by putting in a high ponytail to gather your hair on top of your head. Tie it up using the hairband. If your hair is mid-length, this up-do will be enough. If, however, your hair is extremely long, twist your hair at the base of the ponytail to shorten your locks. Then hold it all in place using wavy hair grips.
Next spread out your locks all around the base of the ponytail so the ends of your hair fall at the back, down the sides and at the front like a fringe that you can sweep to the left or right. This makes it look like you have an on-trend Pixie crop. Then fasten each section in place, one by one, using flat hair pins to fix some sections for as natural a result as possible.
Now add the finishing touches to your hairstyle by texturizing your locks using a sculpting paste such as Jean Louis David's Density Paste. This will give body to your hair and add extra style to your faux pixie!
