How can I create super-straight locks?

There are several ways to create super-straight locks. Whether you decide to head to our Jean Louis David salons, or create the look at home, the pros give their top tips to creating luscious, uber-straight hair.

The new Jean Louis David Style Bar service can help you to create A-lister worthy, straight hair. ‘Thanks to Steampod, the process is actually quite quick. It all depends, of course, on the length and thickness of the client’s hair. If yours is very thick or long, you won’t be able to use the Style Bar, however for all other hair types, 15 short minutes is all it takes to create stunning, sleek hair’.

If you want to try and create this look at home, you simply need to use the correct styling products to achieve salon results. ‘Opt for Perfect Liss or a mousse and apply to damp hair. Which one you decide to use depends on your natural hair type. If your hair is soft, relax the texture with a flat-brush using the Mexican technique. Finish off your style by straightening thick sections from the nape of the neck, and finer sections from around the face. Spray evenly all over with hairspray to keep your hair in place whilst retaining volume, in a sleek, controlled manner’.

Curly hair can also try out this look. ‘At your salon, your stylist will be able to give you super-straight hair by using a traditional blow-dry service, not Speed Brush. On curly hair, the process is much longer and takes more time and precision. Try wearing this look every few days and avoid over-straightening hair as the heat can damage the hair fibres’.

Our advice: When creating this look for yourself at home, make sure your hair retains body and movement whilst straightening hair with a flat iron. This will give your style added oomph and vivacity and will avoid all-over damage caused by heated styling tools.
