Hairstyle of the week: the accessorized ponytail
This season, give your updos some pizazz with some modern and stylish accessories, just like the Bora Aksu Spring-Summer 2015 runway at London Fashion Week.
The trend. Long hair worn in a side ponytail. The defining feature of this look is without a doubt the cuff accessory used as a hair tie. It covers the lengths of the style whilst leaving the ends free. This accessory will add a unique feel to any look whilst ensuring your ponytail remains elegant. On the runway, models were styled with a side fringe covering half of their foreheads; another of this season’s must-have trends.
Get the look. Just because this ponytail is original and unique, doesn’t mean it makes the updo any less elegant. Wear for any occasion, whether you’re heading to work, shopping in town or going to an evening event. Take direct inspiration from the runway and pair with fresh-faced make-up which is perfect for this spring.
Step-by-step tutorial. Start by washing hair with Soft and Shine Shampoo to make hair super glossy. Dry, then detangle carefully. Gather at the nape of the neck, then secure into a low ponytail before moving on to your accessory. If you can’t quite get the knack of this look, why not head to your nearest Jean Louis David salon and take advantage of the Style Bar?
