Fashion Week find: the faux-bob and half-ponytail combo
Get creative with your long hair and fool your friends with a faux-bob, recently spotted on the Antonio Berardi Spring-Summer 2015 runway at Paris Fashion Week.
The trend. Statement long lengths, held securely in place with a half-ponytail. The aim should be to frame your face and add maximum volume to imitate the shape of the bob. Allow a few strands to hang loose around the jaw to create a messy and relaxed vibe. This hairstyle was paired with a slicked back quiff, showing off simple eye make-up.
Get the look. Take direct inspiration from the runway and opt for a fresh and discreet make-up look. Start by evening out your complexion, then sweep a few coats of mascara through your lashes. Cover lips in a blush pink, glossy beige or burgundy red shade to make sure your pout steals the show. On the catwalk, this beauty look was paired with colorful, yet sophisticated, pieces.
Step-by-step tutorial. Start by washing hair with Ultimate Purity Shampoo to get your locks looking radiant and healthy. Dry as usual and section off the upper part of your style. Gather the rest of your hair at the nape of the neck and secure into a half-ponytail. Pull gently on your lengths to create the volume needed for your faux-bob. Next, concentrate on the upper layer and slick down towards the rear. Pin into place with bobby pins and complete the look with a layer of long-lasting hairspray.
