Runway to reality: Carven sends slicked-back quiffs down the runway

The quiff is one of the oldest hairstyles in the book. You probably recognise the rock-n-roll, rounded and oversized versions of this trend, however, this spring the quiff has been completely reinvented and has taken on a more sophisticated vibe thanks to a slicked-back effect. Let’s take a closer look…

The trend. This hairstyle was spotted on the Carven Spring-Summer 2015 runway show at Paris Fashion Week. Hair was worn straight, cascading down the back. A quiff, meanwhile, was slicked down to the head. The best bit? Those of you trying to grow out a fringe will simply love this look! Models paired their simple hairstyle with nude make-up and sophisticated outfits with python print details.

Who can wear the slicked-back quiff? Anybody looking for a simple and understated look. This hairstyle works with lots of different outfits and is perfect for almost any occasion. As it opens up the wearer’s face, the slicked-back quiff is perfect for showing off a bold make-up look or a statement piece of jewellery.

Get the runway look. Spray Soft & Shine Bi-Phase treatment all over clean hair, then dry as normal. Its non-greasy formula hydrates the hair fibers whilst making tangles a thing of the past. Once your hair is dry, straighten in sections to create super-straight locks which hang loose. Take the upper section of hair (used to create your quiff), then slick down towards the rear, securing into place with hair pins before finishing with hairspray.
