The pros give their verdict on this spring’s trendy platinum blonde
This season, platinum blonde has been spotted all over the runways. Our pros give their verdict on this cool shade, meaning you can decide if this on-trend hue is right for you and, of course, find out how to get the perfect end-result in salon.
Platinum blonde won’t suit everybody! ‘If your hair is nowhere near this shade, stay away to avoid a disaster. This color is fairly difficult to create, especially on brown hair. However, if your base color is already quite light, you should have no problems. Committing to a platinum blonde shade means you will have to lighten your hair in several different stages at your salon. A professional technique, developing time and the right formula is everything when it comes to getting your desired shade! You’ll need lots of patience and be prepared to spend hours in the salon’.
If your hair is a natural brown, your end-result is not 100% guaranteed. ‘You’ll never truly know what your final shade will turn out like and reversing this color change is easier said than done as your hair will be much more fragile. Regular appointments will be needed at your salon to stay on top of root re-growth and keep your color vibrant. Our top tip is to keep your eyebrows their natural color, as it is difficult to change these to suit your complexion’.
Our advice: Before going for the plunge, you’ll need to make sure your hair is strong and healthy. After applying your new icy shade, you’ll need to use 100% Color shampoo to nourish and care for your color.
