The messy parting
Winter hair trends tend to be sleek, straight and well groomed. Once the warmer weather starts to arrive, however, tousled beachy hair is where it’s at. Soft kinks, waves and golden highlights are all part of this look. Let’s take a closer look at how to create the messy parting.
The trend. Gone are the mornings where you needed to spend a dozen minutes creating a perfectly straight parting. Summer 2014 is giving you free rein over your hair, meaning you can create a messy-looking parting and style whilst being on-trend. Along with messy lengths, the unruly parting is going to be a big trend this season.
Who can wear the messy parting? Anybody who doesn’t enjoy spending too much time creating the perfect parting and also those who want to wear a care-free hairstyle come summertime. Add a small amount of a volumising styling product and voilà! A messy parting looks great paired with straight hair as it really emphasizes the messy finish of the parting whilst still looking feminine.
How to create the look. It couldn’t be simpler! Once you have washed your hair, start by creating a parting as you normally would, however you only need to do this very quickly and loosely. Don’t worry about getting it perfect. Rough dry your hair with your head upside down to add some volume which will add to the finished look. Finish off by drying your hair as you would normally style it. And there you have it…a simple messy, yet styled look with an unkempt parting. The ultimate summer hairstyle!
