Hairstyle

The chic wet look

This spring we’re going to be seeing a lot of wet-look hairstyles. The summer season is the perfect time to play around with wet-look styles for a sexy, just-back-from-the-beach effect. But this year these styles are also ideal for your sophisticated nights out!

The glossy trend. Wet-look hairstyles are a bit like glossy lips. Shiny and irresistible! You saw these hairstyles last year and fell in love instantly. But when the frost started to arrive you put away your styling gels and left these wet-look hairstyles behind in favour of more structured, classic styles. This year, wet-look is back on top and at Nina Ricci hair is less slick for a less sporty but more girly style.

How to create a wet-look chignon. When it comes to creating a pretty, wet-look hairstyle, it’s all about balance. Too much gel will make your hair look greasy. You only need just enough to make it look slightly wet. Start by brushing your hair to make it as flexible as possible. Then place a small amount of gel in the palms of your hands and rub together before applying for an even application. Cover all of your hair whilst pulling it back. Try not to focus too much on the roots. To stop your hair from looking too slick, gently backcomb your hair before applying the gel. Then create a strict ballerina bun or a lightly tousled chignon.
