Styling your hair for cycling

Do you love cycling in the great outdoors, but hate getting windswept tangled locks that block your view? Well, you can prevent these minor irritations on your next bike ride thanks to the following three styling ideas which are both stylish and practical.

Whether you ride your bike daily or every now and then, it’s always the same old story: you wonder how to tie your hair up in a stylish yet practical way. This is even more of a conundrum for helmet fans. Luckily, JLD has the solution.

Braided hairstyles

You cannot beat braiding to ensure that you can enjoy your bike rides in style:

boxer, African, fishtail, twisted or double braids… Worn to one side, at the back, loose or tight… The possibilities are endless! It is down to you to play with current trends to get a winning look for the cycle path.

Ponytails

The ponytail is undoubtedly the most popular go-to hairstyle among sportswomen. If you find them a bit too mainstream for your taste, feel free to give your ponytail a twist: bubble style, loose, slicked-back or even curled, you’ve a whole range of options to choose from. If you wear a helmet, opt for a low ponytail instead. Also, consider concealing your hairband for an even more on-trend look.

Chignons

Ideal for bike rides, the chignon comes in several different versions. From the classic ballerina bun and the Japanese chignon to the snail shell bun, you will easily find one to suit you. A small piece of advice: so that your hairstyle holds throughout the ride, consider not washing your hair the day you go out, so that the hair is less slippery.
