Streetstyle: The headband, this summer's chic accessory
Her hairstyle. Glamorous and urban. After curling her mid-lengths and ends, she tied her hair into a high half ponytail and created a retro quiff at the top of her head. Her headband adds a trendy touch and, worn to hold it back, structures her hair. The headband becomes a fashion accessory in its own right. This accessory is perfect when it’s hot as it holds her hair back and shows off her face.
Her look. Elegant and laid-back. Our streetstyle of the day has gone for an ultra-feminine look. She teams her puffball skirt with a taupe vest to face the heat subtly but surely. A chunky belt structures her figure and brings out the colour of the brooch she wears on her top. Her glasses, chunky necklace and worn leather bag all add a touch of 60s retro to her look.
Tip of the day. By all means use a headband to structure a half ponytail. But make sure you wear it on a nice big quiff. To create a retro quiff like this one, take a large section of hair from the top of your head and backcomb it using a comb. Backcomb on the inside so it’s nice and subtle.
