Streetstyle : Looking after your goatee

Whereas some men prefer the 3-day beard look, others like to go the extra mile and grow their facial hair into a beard or goatee, which is much more noticeable. A beard or goatee can actually make your style more unique and even help you to create on-trend looks.

The hair. Today’s streetstyle look is slicked back with the help of styling products. All of the attention should be focused on the goatee for this look. The beard is worn fairly long on the sides of the face, around a couple of centimetres. The goatee, on the other hand is much longer. To create the same look with your own facial hair, allow your goatee to grow as long as you can bear it without it bothering you. You’re going for an unkempt look, but this style still requires a fair bit of ‘maintenance’ to keep it rock’n’roll.

The look. Dark and elegant. Just like the goatee and hair, our streetstyle outfit this week is well-thought out. Skinny-fit jeans and black shoes go perfectly with a white shirt and black tie. And of course, you can’t face winter without a coat. Today, it’s a grey thift-store find for our streetstyle wearer. Add a few statement rings, some leather gloves and you’re good to go!

Tip of the day: Beards and goatees can be difficult to wear every day of the week, which is why many men opt for the 3-day beard. Simply grow your facial hair for 3 days, and then trim every now and then with some clippers to keep it at optimum length.
