Nail your sophisticated look with a retro style
Timeless, captivating and glamorous retro hairstyles are more on trend than ever before. Read on to find out more about the kooky look you’ll fall in love with.
The trend. This style was spotted on the Olympia Le Tan Autumn-Winter 2014-2015 runway at Paris Fashion Week. Hair was straightened and secured into a low ponytail, with a side section hanging free. This wavy effect adds the retro feel to the hairstyle. Hair color was natural, focusing on making the model’s locks as glossy as possible. Make-up, on the other hand, was much more dramatic; an intense smoky eye adds a sensual feel and widens the eyes whilst a subtle contour chiseled the face, complete with a nude lip.
Who can wear a retro style? This look is ideal if you’re looking for a retro style that is simple to create. Both elegant and romantic, the updo is perfect for any occasion, but we think it is best suited to an evening with friends or a loved one.
Get the runway look. Start by parting your hair to one side and allow one section to hang loose. Secure the rest of your hair into a simple ponytail. You can now concentrate on the front section. Take your curling iron and create beautiful waves before brushing out gently. This technique will recreate the effect spotted on the runway. Spray evenly all over with hairspray and spritz some Shine Spray if your locks appear lacklustre for added shine.
