Make your blow-dry last as long as possible!

Love the feel of your blow dry after stepping out of the salon but can’t seem to make it last? Our pro explains the top insider tricks and tips to make sure your blow-dry stays superb all day long.

Preparing your locks is one of the top ways to ensure your blow-dry lasts longer. ‘Make sure your hair isn’t damp. When washing, opt for a volumising shampoo that will help your hair stay in place after styling. Before using heated appliances, apply a small amount of mousse throughout, then you can start blow-drying your hair with a good quality round brush. The thickness of your hair will not have an effect on the duration of your blow-dry, however any styling and finishing products will help to keep everything in place’.

The perfect blow-dry requires time and the right technique. ‘When you begin to blow-dry, choose small, even sections for a perfect all-over result, spraying each one with hairspray individually. If you want to retain volume, lightly backcomb around the roots. This time-consuming technique is guaranteed to make your hard work last longer. Another top tip is to alternate between the hot and cold settings of your dryer to set your style. Finally, add a final layer of hairspray all over which will help to combat any frizz or annoying kinks throughout the day. A fixing spray which fights against humidity is your best friend’.

Our advice: Before starting your blow-dry, apply a small amount of Brush Cream throughout your style. This will encourage your hair to stay straighter for longer.
