Is tying up my hair too often causing damage?
Everyone loves tying their hair up from time to time, and with good reason! Chignons, ponytails and braids…all of these beauty looks are on-trend and as popular as ever. Our expert reveals how to keep your hair healthy and prevent damage when tying up your locks.
If you tie your hair up correctly, there’s no reason your hair should become damaged. ‘Healthy hair is much more resistant to damage. This all depends on which styling tools and hair elastics you are using. Opt for hair ties without metal to avoid breakages. You should, however, avoid types that are too fine for your hair’.
You can continue styling your chignons and ponytails as you normally would. ‘These styles actually help your hair to remain healthy and in good condition. Chignons especially protect your locks from external aggressions such as pollution whilst ensuring your ends remain neatly tucked away’.
Our advice: You don’t need to invest in new products to protect your locks when tying them up. Continue your regular haircare routine, making sure you use a styling product before using your hair elastic which will make creating your style that much simpler.
