Do I have to dye my eyebrows when changing my hair colour?
When you have your hair colour done, it’s completely normal to umm and aah about dying your eyebrows. But not everyone has the same view on the matter. So, contrast or consistency? Our pro answers the question.
Your hairdresser is there to listen to your ideas and offer you advice. “However, I tend to be against eyebrow colouring. I find coloured eyebrows lack elegance and are unattractive. Our eyebrows are a reflection of our personality, so I think it’s important to stay true to their natural colour.”
Some women insist on their eyebrows being the same colour as their hair. “In these cases, we have to respect the client’s wishes. But it’s important not to dye the whole surface of the eyebrows to avoid the “two lines across the middle of the face” effect. This can be rather unsightly!”
When it comes to dying eyebrows, you need a steady hand. “You hairdresser uses a brush to apply colour sparingly to the eyebrows. To stop the colour from standing out too much, the dye is applied and rinsed off very swiftly.”
Our tip: avoid dying your own eyebrows at home or you could end up staining your skin. What’s more, poorly dyed eyebrows are really obvious and can look very sloppy.
