Bridal styles: 3 ideas for a glam-rock wedding

Your big day is just around the corner but the last hairstyle you want is a traditional chignon or a standard half ponytail. Don’t fret – this season glam-rock weddings are back, so embrace your creative side and choose a custom style. We can point you in the right direction with three hairstyles for a glam-rock wedding.

Tousled hair. Is the straight blow-dry not for you? Just as well – go for one of this summer’s key trends: dishevelled hair. There’s no better way to give your hair volume and texture and quash any hints of a traditional bride! Give your hair texture using a styling mousse, then dry your hair with your head upside down. Use a round brush to create volume. Finally, boost the roughed-up effect by applying a sculpting paste. Heat in your hands first.

The XXL bun. But not just any bun: think volume and height, lots of it! For a flawless glam-rock result, the style needs to be perfectly structured and styled. Gently backcomb your hair at the roots to avoid it looking too flat. Create a high ponytail and add a hair donut. This will give you the XXL effect you’re after. Backcomb your mid-lengths and twist them around the donut, taking care not to miss any sections. Fix with bun pins and a layer of hair spray.

The oversize chignon. Rock, glamour and sixties fans will love this style, which will fit perfectly with your image. What’s more, it’s easy to create and shows off your pretty face. To create this style, backcombing is key! Apply a small amount of styling mousse to add body. Dry your hair with your head upside down and backcomb all over, section by section, using a comb and hairspray. Pull your hair back, gather the ends at the nape of your neck and fix in place using hair pins.
