Alternative to slicked hair: messy damp locks
Finding a new, interesting way to style a classic cut can sometimes be difficult. Luckily, the runway shows are there to inspire us and show off new season trends. For winter 2014-2015, opt for a messy look for a relaxed vibe.
The trend. This trend goes against the grain and ignores the rules. For an on-trend look, the style is all about the messy finish, which requires minimal effort. Perfect your haphazard look by opting for a strong hold styling product. This should add a high-shine finish whilst simultaneously ensuring your look stays put all day long.
Who can wear messy damp locks? This look is ideal for women who like to regularly change their hairstyle and wear something a bit different from the crowd. You don’t need to head to your salon to create this runway look. Simply add volume to your roots and hold in place with the correct fixing product. You can style this messy do regardless of hair length. One key element, however, is the lack of a fringe, meaning you can add much-needed volume at the very front.
Get the runway look. This look doesn’t require squeaky clean hair. In fact, hair that hasn’t been washed for a couple of days is best to work with. Add some texture with dry shampoo, as this will promote volume and hold. Next, backcomb your root area down to the mid-lengths. Make sure your technique lasts all day by adding some gel to this area. Next, straighten from the mid-lengths right down to the ends. This lower section should be glossy, so try adding a few pumps of Shine Spray to get your desired effect. And voila! An on-trend style which opens up the face whilst adding a distinctly sophisticated feel to any outfit.
