Women’s hair trends to watch for spring-summer 2014
As the days gradually start to get longer and temperatures start to rise, there’s usually one thing on a woman’s mind…a new haircut of course! Every year trends come and go. Although the bob has remained popular through to spring 2014, so has extra-long hair. Let’s take a look at the hottest hair trends for spring-summer 2014.
Short hair. Shorter than the traditional bob, short hair is going to be much more layered and should be no longer than the nape of the neck. However, this doesn’t mean you should forget about adding volume. Ideally, try to add some body to the front section of your hair using a styling product to give your hair fullness. You can go for a messy, laid-back look or straight, depending on your mood. Whichever look you go for, as long as your short hair is layered, every style will work.
Long hair. This season, long hair needs to be super long. But you can’t simply leave your hair to its own devices every morning. These locks need to be styled to perfection. To make this easier, ask your stylist to cut your ends into a slightly rounded shape that will give your hair movement and fluidity. Wavy hair is still going to be a big trend for spring this year and summer too, so try creating soft bouncy curls that look au natural. Straight hair is also still on the cards, however for summer your hair should be super straight. Why not add in a curtain-style fringe? 60s influences are creeping in to 2014’s biggest hairstyle trends.
Mid-length hair. Don’t panic if you have neither of the above, there is a mid point between these two hair trends! This style isn’t really a bob, but isn’t long hair either. Hair should sit on the shoulder and can be styled in several different ways. Try blow drying yours into a sophisticated, modern look, or add some waves for a beachy look. If you like to change your hairstyle every day, this is the style for you. Simply make sure you use the correct styling products.
