Vintage hairstyle: get the 60s trend!
Retro hairstyles have travelled through the decades without ageing one bit. Still just as on trend, they make you look sophisticated, glamorous and sultry. This winter, the spotlight is on the 60s to get as close to this trend as possible!
A style which made its mark on the Badgley Mischka fashion show
On the catwalk, the models are wearing half-up half-down ponytails in a pure sixties style! Just like back then, the hairstyles have an XXL amount of hair on top of the head. One section of hair on the side is also plastered at the front to create maximum relief. As for hair coloring, the tones are intense and bright. Light brown, dark brown and red are omnipresent and have also emerged as this season’s trends. Due to this style, the models have a highly-sophisticated look.
Who are these styles for?
The half-up half-down pony tail suits hairstyles which are at least shoulder length. It is designed for all 60s fans or those who feel nostalgic for the sixties, who wish to modernize and adopt this style on a daily basis. Furthermore, its effect is maximized if you combine it with a very feminine outfit for your next evening out. As for make-up, it’s down to you to choose between a 100% sixties effect, by relying on the must-have “doe eyed look” or alternatively try simple and discreet make up if you prefer to be a bit different.
Your hairstyle step by step
Wash your hair with Hydration and Lightness shampoo from the Oil Therapy range to give it strength and shine. Dry it and then comb it out using a round brush. Mark out a side parting, before flattening down a section at the front, holding it in place with hairpins around your ears. Then backcomb your roots on top of your head and the underside of your hair. Finally, carefully straighten out your hair, go over it with a fine comb and create the half-up half-down ponytail. To finish, spray on some hairspray for maximum hold.
