The twisted ponytail
Some classic, fundamental hairstyles will never go out of fashion, as long as they are adapted to the latest trends. This is the case for the ponytail, a style that is both chic and easy to create. For a more relaxed effect, here’s a twisted version!
The messy trend. This summer, neat, strict styles were but a distant memory, with the arrival on the scene of wavy hair, messy styles and twists. So forget the straight, slicked back ponytail and opt for a modern messy version. Still as chic as ever!
How to create the twisted ponytail. Start by brushing your hair to remove any knots. If necessary, apply a serum to eliminate any frizz. This will also give your hair added shine. Then, using a comb, divide your hair into three sections: take out two large pieces in the front that frame your face on each side – you will twist these later – then gather the rest of your hair into a low ponytail and secure with a hair band. Now backcomb the two pieces of hair. Once you’ve added extra volume and texture, start twisting the first piece of hair to the ends and pull it back. Wrap it around the base of your ponytail to hide the hair band. Do the same with the other piece of hair on the other side. Spray a layer of hairspray across the whole style to make sure it lasts. This will also protect your hair from humidity.
