Street Style

Hubert, a sophisticated relaxed look

Every month, we examine the outfit of a woman or a man who caught our attention. First Julie, now it is Hubert’s turn with his modern spring style!

Paris, a Monday in March. We crossed paths with Hubert, an editor-in-chief specialising in cinema. With a big grin on his face, this huge Almodóvar fan stopped for a few minutes to answer our questions.

Could you describe your outfit to us?

I went for a spring look and light materials to start off this sunny week. To start with, I am wearing a denim shirt bought at Cos a few years ago. I like its cut which is different from standard designs with a hidden button placket, understated side pockets and slightly tailored at the waist. As for the camel trousers, they’re one of my recent finds from the sales bought from Volcom. The jacket is from Zara, bought in Seville a few years ago and I never get bored of it. Besides the colour, I fell in love with the print lining which adds a twist to any outfit. On my feet, I’m wearing brown Faguo canvas trainers bought during the recent sales.

Green, camel, brown… Do you usually combine colours?

Yes, I’m not afraid to wear 2 or 3 not including my jacket. Apart from yellow or orange. I’ve dared to go for pink, red and turquoise. A few bright touches boost my outfits which are usually made up of shirts, jeans, polo shirts and a sweater in winter…

Tell us about your rucksack…

It is an Animo bag, bought in Kyoto. I chose it for its sophisticated style and its mix of materials combined with the fact it is highly practical. It tops off my collection, as I always have a bag or satchel with me.

A piece which is missing from your wardrobe?

A grey leather jacket to replace the one I currently wear. But I don’t have a list, I buy whatever takes my fancy or whatever I can get as a bargain in the sales. I alternate between getting pieces which are sometimes expensive which will last for years and cheaper ones to refresh my wardrobe.

Finally, do you buy mainly online or from shops?

Mainly from shops – I like to try clothes on, see the fabrics and colours.
