How to protect your curls in summer
When the temperature rises and the sun has everyone smiling, your hair also reaps the benefits, as long as it’s not exposed to the sun for too long without protection. This is particularly important for curly hair, which is often dry. Here are some tips on how to protect your curls in summer.
Curly hair can enjoy the sun too! But only in small doses. “The sun will gently and naturally lighten hair without harming your curls, as long as they’re not exposed to it for too long.” In summer, curly hair might need more protection than other hair types as it is often dry. “It can suffer damage when exposed to the sun. Especially when in contact with rough materials such as salt and sand. These penetrate the hair and reverse the positive effects of the keratin. The solution? Tie up your hair and opt for a hat or scarf, a big trend for this summer. If your hair is still feeling fragile, supplement with sun or hair products.”
Just because something is good for your skin doesn’t mean it will be good for your hair! To protect your hair, forget oils and opt for a sun protection designed for curly hair. Anti-UV creams work particularly well. They work to nourish your hair and don’t need to be re-applied too often. After you’ve been for a swim in the sea or pool, rinse your hair so it doesn’t suffer damage from the various combinations of sun-sand-sea-pool. “Curly hair loves the sun as long it is doesn’t cause it any harm. When you get back from the beach or the pool, give your hair some TLC with nourishing shampoos and treatments designed for curly hair.”
Our tip: To regenerate your hair, nourishing serums are the perfect solution. As well as giving your hair body, they protect your hair. Your hair is left deeply hydrated and soft and shiny!
