How to create the dual-effect half ponytail

The summer season is all about wet-look styles, but that’s not all. This year, to get ahead of the trends, what better than a dual-effect hairstyle mixing dry hair with a wet look. Both elegant and natural.

Who can wear it? Just like the normal ponytail, the half ponytail is a timeless classic that we’ve all been wearing since we were young. The hairstyle is so popular that a new version has been invented: the dual-effect half ponytail. Say goodbye to the sweet and innocent look, and bring on chic and laid-bare. Bear in mind that this style works best on mid-length and long hair, which is a lot easier to structure.

How to create the dual-effect half ponytail. What we love about this hairstyle is its mixture of effects. The wet look on top offers a strict and elegant side, while the loose hair underneath gives it a natural touch that looks great on everyone and is super easy to create at home.
To start, blow-dry your hair using a heat-protector spray to protect your hair from the heat of your hairdryer. The product should be applied to hair when it is still wet. Once your hair is dry, create your parting and apply a styling wax to the two sections that frame your face. Distribute evenly to avoid it looking greasy. The rest of the hair is left aside untouched – it needs to remain dry and natural. Only the hair on top is styled.
Slick the two waxed sections back carefully. The wax fixes the hair’s movement and leaves it looking shiny. Join the two sections up at the back of your head and secure using hair pins. These will look subtle in your hair. Your trendy, summery, dual-effect half ponytail is ready!
