How to create an oversized bun
The oversized bun has been a huge trend for the past few seasons and is still taking the fashion world by storm. Want to create this look for yourself? Look no further than our pro’s step-by-step advice.
There are a few must-have tools to get the perfect chignon. ‘You’ll need a foam bun, a comb, a hair tie and several bobby pins. Start by creating a ponytail where you want to add more volume. Place your foam bun on top of your ponytail, pulling your lengths through the centre. You can remove your hair tie and spread your lengths over the foam, hiding it from sight’.
It’s now time for the tricky bit. ‘Carefully smooth down any frizz or bumps with a brush. Take your hair tie and place at the base to create your chignon. Don’t panic if some hairs escape. Gather into two sections: twist the first towards the right and secure into place with a hair pin. Repeat this step for the left side. Of course, don’t forget to add a long-lasting hold with Fix Spray’.
Our advice: Once you’ve nailed your technique, this style is fairly simple to create. Due to the fact that your hair needs to be a certain length, this style is best suited to those with longer hair. Nevertheless, if you position your chignon a touch lower than usual, those with mid-length hair can also try this one out too.
