Hairstyle head-to-head: the bandeau vs the boho scarf

Share
Summer 2013 is all about hair accessories. What better way to protect your hair from the harmful effects of the sun and stay ultra-trendy at the same time? So, the XXL bandeau or the boho scarf? These styles go head-to-head.

The XXL bandeau. Rochas goes sporty and sophisticated with this pastel silk accessory. The bandeau not only covers the hair, it also hides the forehead and nearly the eyes. Simply placed on the head, this version of the bandeau allows the scalp to breathe.

The boho scarf. Tied around the head, this Dolce & Gabbana scarf is both colourful and glamorous. The silk boho scarf, with its chic, floral patterns, is wrapped around the head and tied at the neck, slightly to the side. Hair is tied into a chignon to avoid stealing the accessory's limelight.

Our verdict. While we love the pastel colours and the sophisticated materials of the XXL bandeau, it's hard to picture oneself wearing it. It's way too bulky and doesn't quite belong in the 21st century... This summer, stick to retro, Dolce & Gabanna-style scarves. Worn tied around backcombed hair, the silk scarf structures any hairstyle and gives it a boho feel. Opt for one with multicoloured prints, perfect for summer 2013!
