Hair accessories for spring-summer 2013

With spring-summer on its way, leave your beanies and Russian hats behind for lighter hair accessories. Here’s a closer look at the ones you’ll be wearing during this new summer season!

For a retro style. The 60s are the main source of inspiration for this spring-summer’s trends. And not only when it comes to fashion. Hairdressers are also paying tribute to this decade with ultra-backcombed hairstyles and signature hair accessories. Result: scarves are crowning backcombed up-dos. Roll your scarf lengthways and tie it around your head. Wear it on the side or on top! Bow headbands on backcombed chignons also feature for a retro, preppy look. Other retro accessories to wear for dressier occasions: fascinators.

For a neo-futurist style. A new material seems to have got its hands on all sorts of accessories. On handbags, hair accessories and shoes, plexiglas or plastic is all the rage! It can be seen on headbands, like at Donna Karan, but also in the form of a neo-futurist crown at Fendi. To complement these futuristic accessories, opt for up-dos such as French twists and wet-look chignons.

For a romantic style. Give in to your sentimental side this season with bohemian and romantic hairstyles. And what better way to do this than wearing flowers in all sorts of forms! Floral crown, flower headband, flower hair clips and flower pins nestled in your hair!
